Love what you do

It's a cliche "love what you do and you'll never work another day in your life". Well, there is a reason it's a cliche. In large part because there is some truth behind the statement. What I recently discovered about this old saying is that you can get burnt out doing the thing you love, making it feel like you're working more than you really are. I found this out last week as on Tuesday I came home tired and angry because I was overwhelmed with my work. My Fiancee suggested that I take the rest of the week off and not do any work to give my mind a rest. Well, I couldn't do that because I had work I had to do on Wednesday. But, as soon as I got home on Wednesday I started what would become a 4-day break from the office, clients, and anything marketing, business, or work-related.

During those 4 days, I was able to get in some much-needed rest, learn about myself, and realize how much I love the work I do. Those 4 days showed me that even though things can get overwhelming and daunting that I can't imagine myself doing anything else than working with small business owners to promote their goods/services. I also know that it's not the only thing I want to do. I want to expand my skill set and open new businesses in the future.

My hope for you is that you'll find the time to take time away from the craziness of your work so you can either fall back in love with it or realize that you want something else.
